MY KIDNEY STORY
Church stage with drums, cross, and Psalm paintings on wooden pallet walls.

Savior Powerful Almighty Resurrected Christ

Thank you for visiting Generation3031.

Psalms 22 is the scripture of conviction and inspiration for serving in ministry.  The ministry’s name “Generation3031” comes from verses 30, and 31.

Generation 3031 is a ministry that declares Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Spreading the gospel of Christ is the mission,

God uses people in different ways to do His work.

I play drums to music, and songs in praise.

I am thankful to God for all things.

I give thanks and praise Him for all He has done in my life.

My hope is for others to hear the word of God.

My hope is for others to see Jesus, “the true light of this world”.

My hope is by hearing God’s word, and maybe someone will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The joy in the Lord is my strength.

Sharing the gospel is my joyful servitude.

I believe we should seek God in His word, declare His righteousness, and share the Gospel.  Jesus loves us.

In Matt. 5:14-16 you will find that we are the light of the world, and we should let our light so shine before men.

The heart of this ministry is praise and  worship, speaking God's word, and giving testimony.  I play the drums to music tracks in praising and worshipping our Lord and Savior.

I am so thankful to use my God given talents and gifts for my

Savior, who is the Powerful, Almighty, Resurrected Christ.  (S.P.A.R.C.)

I believe the Holy Bible is God's word written by men divinely inspired from God, and God is the author. I believe there is only one true living God.  I believe in the trinity God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  God created man in His own image both male and female.  I believe man was given freedom of choice, was tempted by Satan and chose to disobey the command from God.  Sin is not of God. It was through man that sin entered the world.  Man's nature is sinful.  The wages of sin is an eternal death in a place for sinners called hell.  God loves us, and sent Jesus Christ into this world by the Holy Spirit conception in Mary.  Mary gave birth to the Light of the world our Savior Jesus Christ.  Jesus gave His life for us, that whosoever believes in Him should not be condemn to an eternal death, but have everlasting life.  Jesus died, was buried and arose the third day.  In Jesus we have been redeemed.  We have God's grace, Jesus's sacrifice,  and the Holy Spirit's conviction.  Our hope is in Jesus Christ and in Him only do we have Salvation from sins.

Ministry opportunity can be discussed and planned according to your need.

Who's the guy behind the drum's?

A Drummer For Christ

Hey There,

I am Alex Broome and I'm glad to introduce myself to you.  I learned to play the drums when I was thirteen years old.  I took to drumming verily quickly.  I was able to audition for the high school band and was accepted into the drum line.  Opportunities were presented in churches to play the drums and I enjoyed every minute.  I loved playing the drums.  I played in marching bands, concert bands, show choir, and jazz bands throughout high school and college.  I left college and began a career in the medical field with an air specialty bed company. I moved to Louisiana for my work.  I soon became the church percussionist, and the back up drummer for Summer Grove Baptist Church, in Shreveport, La.

The music ministry was a top notch ministry.  The music filled the sanctuary

with joy as we played skillfully unto our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  The music minister would sing and play his trumpet like I never heard before.  In fact, all the instrumentalists played and choir sang in the same manner. The hearts of everyone in the orchestra, choir, and congregation praised God with singing and playing music.  There was a 250 member choir behind the orchestra singing. They were a sight to see and hear.  While living in Shreveport, I went back to school and finished my studies in Radiologic Technology.  I moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi shortly after starting my career.  I had some opportunities while living in Pascagoula to play music, and I am thankful for those opportunities.

Hands forming a heart around a wooden cross on a beach.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and

A BLESSED FAMILY MAN

Opportunity came and I moved to Mobile, Al to further my career path.  I began to drift away from church.  I didn't attend church unless I was visiting family.  Playing the drums was no longer a priority in my life. That aspect of me slipped further into the past.  I came to a turning point in my life.  I started attending church again, and met my wife there.  This year will make twenty-three years of marriage.  She's beautiful, wonderful, and supportive and I wouldn't be here without her.  She is perfectly made for me and I am thankful to God for her.  We are blessed with two children.  A daughter and son who we love, and we give thanks to God for them.  Through the years we have served teaching in Sunday School.  We have taught first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade groups.  We have taught college/career, and senior adults.  We served along side a great bunch of loving folks in  A.W.A.N.A.  It was an honor and privilege to serve with them.  We both were raised in Christian homes.  My father was a preacher served many years as pastor of small churchs. My mother was a Sunday School teacher.  She taught Sunday School for sixty years.  My wife's father served as a deacon and teacher, and  her mother was a teacher as well.

I am thankful and blessed to have my family.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…. James 1:17

a guy "Declaring His Righteousness One heartbeat at a time."

For the first time, in over 20 years, my desire to play the drums was reignited in the spring of 2021.  My son and I were sitting in church one Sunday morning listening to the praise team.  Playing the drums was something I did in my past.  I don't remember the name of that particular song, but I started to play the air drums.  There was something familiar with the music and it was speaking to me.  The praise team and praise band was singing and playing from their hearts.  Joy filled the sanctuary with resonating sounds of praise.  It was heartfelt and captivating.  I became ignited with the desire to play the drums again.  I looked at my son, and smiled while saying  "I actually want to play the drums again."  In the middle of the sermon, to my surprise, I was being convicted of my talent.

My God given talent opened many doors for me in my past.  Drumming brought me a lot of joy along life’s highway.

I was blessed to have the opportunity to learn how to play the drums. I gave my all to learn, and I was able to go to college because of it.

God knew the heart of the teenage boy, who He used, to teach me drums. He was a good teacher and patient with me in  my humble beginnings.

God was shaping him to become a band director, and a band director he became.

On April 18, 2021, God was wanting all of me to serve him, and all of me I gave him.

I had an opportunity to play at my church a couple of months after that Sunday.  I am a lot older now and my playing skills were rusty to say the least.  But, here I was  playing the drums to God in praise and worship.

A few more months went by, and a teenager started attending our church again. He also could play the drums.  God never stops working.

Romans 8:28  "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

The source of my joy is Christ Jesus, my Lord and Savior.

With all my heart, soul, and mind,

I shall  "Declare His Righteousness One Heart Beat At A Time."

My Kidney Story

THE PREDICAMENT

Hello Folks,

I have a request. I really would appreciate you taking a moment and read about my predicament.

I am faced with the need for a kidney. I need a living donor. It is the best and fastest way to receive a kidney. The living kidney donor gives a life line that will keep giving everyday.

A living donor’s kidney can sustain life longer. This is my situation now.

I hope it will change to “that was my story”, all because of your gift.

My wife didn’t qualify to become a candidate.

I had a brother who tried to be a candidate.

He was declined. I am very thankful for efforts.

Now you know my dilemma.

I need a living donor.

To be a candidate fill out and submit the donor questionnaire on the websites provided.

Put my name in for the recipient.

That’s all you do, to get started.

The Day After “Thanksgiving"

In November of 2008, I was diagnose with Stage 3 Kidney disease. This November makes 18 years of a fight worth fighting. The possibility of staying in Stage 3 was good. I made lifestyle adjustments to keep my kidneys functioning in Stage 3.

Unfortunately, my kidneys have gradually declined to a 16 GFR.

Now, I am in need of a kidney. A kidney would be a life line for me.

I do not have any medical history of diabetes. I do not smoke, and I do not drink alcohol.

My parents didn’t have a history of kidney disease. My sister and brothers do not have diabetes. I am the youngest of my siblings.

My sister and brothers are very supportive in my life’s journey.

One of my brothers was born with one kidney. He is 72 years old now.

He is living proof that a person can live a normal life with just one kidney.

My wife and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl in December of 2006. She was almost two when I was diagnosed with the renal disease. In 2011 we were blessed with a baby boy. We celebrated our twenty third anniversary this year. Our daughter is 19 and our son is 15.

I have a beautiful wife, daughter, and son. I love them and I am grateful for their support. I hope we can continue sharing life together.

I am asking for your help. A living donor is the easiest, fastest, and best way to be a kidney recipient. It’s literally a life saving gift. It is a heroic act of kindness, and a generous giver to give me this life line. I am appreciative for your consideration and decision for going down this road with me.

Our blood types do not have to match. There isn’t a medical cost to you. My insurance will pay for it.

Lifestyle Adjustments

I was on already on course in losing weight when I got my diagnosis. I was down 20 pounds, but my weight wasn’t the cause of my renal function impairment. I wasn’t diabetic. I learned that the bigger the person, the more the kidneys have to work.

I wanted to give myself the best possible outcome to stay in stage 3.

I was hopeful and I was told that more than likely my kidneys would stay in stage three.

The Change

I began by seeking nutrition, and a nutritionist.

I began to exercise.

I made better choices with meals, exercise, and the results were positive.

I started looking for any opportunity to create more ways to burn calories.

I stared taking the stairs instead of elevators, and I would park the car aways off from the store parking lot.

Should I Do It or Should I Not?

I contemplated having stomach surgery for weight loss.

I just couldn’t do it. I’m not knocking it, it just wasn’t for me.

I took the challenge to live differently, seriously.

The Good Stuff

I committed my efforts to do what I had to do, and I am better off.

My diet became a lifestyle of nutrition that continues to diversify into goodness.

I joined a gym and considered myself successful if I only showed up.

Now, I am a regular at the wellness center and enjoy it.

I enjoy cooking for my family.

I like to ride my mountain bike.

I like playing Billiards,

I absolutely enjoy playing the drums.

I like to swim with my family in our pool.

I like camping.

I would hope to some traveling one day.

I enjoy watching my son play football.

I enjoy watching my daughter play with her dog.

I enjoy my wife, and the life we have created together.

I enjoy life.

I was told, that I have lost a whole person. Truth be told, I have lost a whole person.

I’m not the same man anymore, so my wife says, and she’s right.

All the healthy lifestyle changes that I made transformed me into who I am today.

I am thankful for my life and lifestyle.

I have zest, vigor, and vitality.

I have an eagerness, an anticipation for the excitement of the next road less traveled.

I made the transformation into the lifestyle of “the best case support for my kidney function”, and the best case support for my best life.

The Request

Needless to say, sometimes you need a little help from your friends. Sometimes you need a lot of help.

I am at that point.

Would you help me continue to this life’s journey?

Would you give me the gift, the life line, the gift of a kidney?

Would you be my living donor?

Unfortunately, neither my wife or brother qualified to be a living donor.

I have a humble heart filled with “Thanksgiving” for their efforts.

Everyday is a blessing, everyday is a day after a “Thanksgiving” day.

Thank-you for your generous time.

God Bless,

Alex Broome

psalm 22

The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah

22 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

God bless!
